Introducing the Practitioner Mentor for Apprentices, a certification designed for managers, supervisors and those running apprenticeship schemes.
Many businesses are taking advantage of the government’s apprentice scheme and bringing enthusiastic unskilled staff into the work place. Unfortunately many managers fail to capitalise on this new potential asset and end up with someone that costs more time and effort that they will get back. Only 31% of team leaders and supervisors feel confident supporting apprentices according to our recent survey. This leads to missed opportunities, wasted time, effort and therefore wasted revenue.
Becoming a practitioner mentor for apprentices will set you apart from others in your work place and set your business apart form other businesses as an organisation that successfully capitalises on the investment of an apprentice. The Practitioner Mentor for Apprentices programme will teach you how to pass on your knowledge in a way that will be retained, built on and give you a solid return for your efforts in the long run. While others struggle to capitalise on their apprentice you can stand out and be responsible for developing a valuable member of the team that instead of leaving after 6 months, will contribute to your business for years to come.
Understanding your apprentice’s learning style and mindset is essential to helping any student learn. This will give your apprentice space to communicate concerns, build trust and also give you productive feedback during the teaching process, allowing you to make changes to develop yourself and avoid unnecessary confusion or conflict. All this is achievable through mentoring.
The skills you will gain through this programme will also pave the way to being an invaluable team mentor, helping connect your senior team to your junior employees. Using similar principles you use with your apprentice mentees you can understand how your established team can be supported to achieve further and be responsible for achieving that success.
Turn your apprentice into a long term asset, and develop your own value with the Practitioner Mentor for Apprentices programme.
