Who are The Mentoring School?

We are a company based in Hampshire that delivers mentor training courses across the UK. We work with industry experts to develop specialised programmes for individuals and organisations, with a focus on delivering meaningful, long-term impact.

How do I pay for courses?

Each course page includes the cost, and whether a payment plan is available. Simply click to enrol on either the one-time payment or payment plan option. You will be directed to the billing page where you can choose to pay by PayPal, Credit or Debit Card, or we can send you an invoice to be paid via bank transfer.

Do I need any qualifications already to take courses?

There are no previous/specific qualification requirements in order to enrol on any course up to and including Level 3 (Practitioner). However, you will need to have completed a Level 3 (Practitioner) qualification in order to be able to undertake a Level 4 (Advanced) course.

How does on-demand learning work?

On-demand learning is designed to let you access your course materials at any time through your learning portal. Your course modules are broken down into a series of pre-recorded videos of around 15 minutes each, along with specific activities to help you delve deeper into the content.

This approach gives you complete control over how and when you work your way through your course, making it easier to fit your learning around your daily life. You will also have the opportunity to regularly check in with your designated tutor, including being able to book in for support sessions via Teams or Zoom. What’s more, our dedicated team will be happy to help with any questions or problems you may have via email or phone.

Do you do in person/live training?

Some specific courses are conducted in a live online format with arranged training dates. These are clearly marked in the course catalogue, along with the exact dates and timings.

In person and live online training options are also available as an option for organisations looking to arrange training for groups of 10 or more. If this is something that you are interested in, please get in touch with the main office to discuss exactly what you are looking for.

How long do courses take?

Course duration varies depending on the level and format of the training. For live online and in person courses, the duration will be dictated by the agreed schedule for training dates. For on-demand learning, duration will be determined by the individual’s engagement and whether they decide to spread their training out or condense it for a faster approach. All course pages have estimated durations included.

Are these qualifications accredited?

Yes- our qualifications are fully accredited by Open Awards.

What support is available for learners?

As part of your induction you will receive a welcome pack with information about getting started on your course and what to expect throughout your learning journey. You will also have the opportunity to schedule an induction tutorial.

Any learners with questions or problems can contact our dedicated team via phone or email and they will be more than happy to help. Those completing on-demand learning will also have the opportunity to regularly check in with your designated tutor, including being able to book in for support sessions via Teams or Zoom.

Do you work with organisations?

Absolutely! Whether you are looking to launch a mentoring programme, or simply want to train your teams in mentoring skills, we are here to help. We offer a wide range of courses with the option of live online and in-person training, as well as the ability to personalise module content to match your specific goals and requirements.

We also provide ‘train the trainer’ programmes, whereby we teach your inhouse teams to deliver mentoring courses themselves. Check out our ‘For Organisations’ tab to find out more about how we can work together, or feel free to get in touch with any questions.

How do I get a copy of my qualification certificate?

Once you have successfully completed your course, we will send you an official hard copy of your certificate as well as the digital version. If you have lost your qualification certificates you will need to get in touch with us directly in order to request replacements. Please note that there is a fee to reissue these.

What if I need an extension?

If something happens which means you will be unable to meet your submission deadline, please get in touch with us as soon as possible to let us know. We will send you a Special Consideration form to complete with the details of the situation that you are facing and the amount of extra time that you would ideally like. From there we will work with you to sort out a plan for moving forwards.
