In this level 2 course, learners gain an understanding of the fundamental principles which underpin mentoring. Topics include maintaining healthy boundaries, the responsibilities of their role, and how to effectively use their personal experiences to guide and advise another.

The course consists of 8 modules which can be completed virtually, either as an individual or as part of an organisation’s wider mentoring programme provision. In the event of a setting or community group wanting to establish a wider peer mentoring system, we can discuss further tailoring of the course content and delivery to their specific aims.

What does a Level 2 Peer Mentoring course cover?

Our Level 2 course covers the fundamental principles of mentoring, including maintaining professional boundaries, understanding the responsibilities of the mentor role, and learning how to safely use personal “lived experience” to guide and advise others.

How is peer mentoring used in schools?

In educational settings, peer mentoring is used to create student-to-student support systems. It helps improve school culture, reduces bullying, and provides younger students with relatable role models within their own peer group.

Can peer mentoring training be used for community support groups?

Absolutely. This course is highly effective for community-based schemes focusing on rehabilitation, homelessness, or refugee support. It empowers individuals with lived experience to provide structured, safe, and effective support to others in similar situations. Indeed, the Youth Endowment Fund reporting that mentoring programmes designed to tackle crime and associated behaviours reduced violence by 21%, clearly demonstrating that peer mentoring can have a profoundly positive impact.

Is there a payment plan for the Peer Mentoring course?

Yes, we offer an interest-free payment plan. The cost can be broken down into three monthly payments of £178, making the qualification more accessible for individual learners and small charities.
