
This level 4 course is designed for teachers, learning mentors and pastoral staff in primary, secondary or further education and alternative provision settings. With The Children’s Society reporting that in the past three years, the likelihood of young people having a mental health problem has increased by 50%, being able to provide effective support is more important than ever.
Please note: for the Advanced Children and Young Person Mentoring course, participants are required to have previously completed a Level 3 (Practitioner) qualification.

Application Module
This module expands on the Core Modules to embed your learning within your advanced children and young person mentoring. You will explore additional factors which can impact mentoring and consider how they can influence your own practice.
This includes:
- Internal and external barriers
- Resources
- Services
- The role of the mentee
- The role of others
- Making progress towards identified goals
Assessment
Submission of a portfolio developed over the duration of the course. Sections are completed on a module-by-module basis, then submitted as a full portfolio upon completion of the Advanced Children and Young Person Mentoring course.
